Sabbath again

The Relief Society lesson was taken from Robert D Hales talk in Oct. 2011 conference:

The purpose of our life on earth is to grow, develop, and be strengthened through our own experiences. How do we do this? This was the question that our Relief Society teacher presented to each of us today. Think about that question, its seems like that it should be pretty simple, but HA! Life is full of trials and really hard stuff. I sometimes get really tired of the hard stuff and look forward to when life is easier. So one of my favorite scriptures can be found in Ether 12:27 it goes along with the lesson. We are promised that our weakness should be made our strengths. So this goes along with our purpose in this life. We have experience things in order to grow. Better yet sometimes it is really hard stuff and it hurts so much but years down the road we can honestly say that we are better because of that trial. Does that mean we want to experience it again? I know the answer would be a very strong NO WAY!
My favorite part of the talk is: I express gratitude that “in my Gethsemane”43 and yours, we are not alone. He that watches over us “shall neither slumber nor sleep.”44 His angels here and beyond the veil are “round about [us], to bear [us] up.”45 I bear my special witness that our Savior’s promise is true, for He says, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”46 May we wait upon Him by pressing forward in faith, that we may say in our prayers, “Thy will be done,”47 and return to Him with honor. In the holy name of our Savior and Redeemer, even Jesus Christ, amen.

Just like Bro Hale, I know the Savior hears and answers my prayers. I know he watches over me and gives me strength. I am so grateful for a great teacher today that has touched my heart. Thank you for being intune with the spirit so that you knew what I needed to be strong.

Love to all
Joyce
